Requisition Number: xxxx Job Title: Appraiser Trainee Area of Interest: Commercial City: Pittsburgh State: Pennsylvania Requirements: Minimum Qualifications * Bachelors Degree in business and/or real estate related concentration; appraiser trainee experience/licensing preferred, satisfactory completion of majority of required educational courses toward state general certification as a commercial real estate appraiser preferred. * Working knowledge of current standard MS Office programs, word processing, spreadsheets and presentation software. * Ability to use independent judgment, discretion and maintain confidentiality. * Ability to communicate effectively and professionally, strong written and oral communication skills. * Strong knowledge of the Bank's organization, policies and procedures. * Strong understanding of State and Federal regulations as they relate to lending and appraisal procedures. * Ability to travel a must, clean drivers license and available transportation required. Must adhere to pertinent laws, regulations , First Niagara’s Compliance Policy and external compliance requirements. Job Description: Overview: Under guidance and supervision of Staff Appraiser, duties include evaluation of non-residential, non-complex commercial property types. Also responsible for lower-level review of third party appraisals. This position serves as training while the incumbent is completing qualifying educational courses required for state general certification (Commercial Real Estate Appraiser). KeyResponsibilities * Assist Staff Appraisers in data collection, inspections, photographs, etc. * Compile and verify comparable data as well as other relevant data. * Research data and write reports utilizing standard industry software. * Research records at municipal buildings. * Perform other related assignments as requested by manager. * Perform evaluation for transactions that apply. * Perform desk reviews of third-party appraisals for lower-level transactions.
